Good results for FACC at Victorian Marathon Canoe Championships

FACC club members had some great results in the Victorian Marathon Canoe Championships held last weekend in difficult and windy conditions on the Barwon river in Geelong.

In the singles events on Saturday Ivor Morgan finished a close third in a competitive field in the Mens Open K1.  Stewart Nicol paddled to 3rd position in the Mens V45 TC1 class, whilst Gayle Burke and Terri Hynes finished 4th and 5th respectively in the Womens V55 TK1 class.

Sunday saw the double races being run.  Annette Scott and Marie Taylor blitzed the field in the Womens V40 TK2 class, with Gayle Burke and Terri Hynes getting a 3rd in the same class.  Stewart Nicol and Chris DeLuis paddled to 3rd in the Mens V45 TK2 class, whilst Ivor climbed out of his sick bed to backup from his K1 race with a strong victory in the Mens Open K2, teaming with Mark Rantall from Warrnambool.

Congratulation to all the participants on some good results.
