FACC Annual General Meeting – Sunday 12 Jul 10AM

FACC Annual General Meeting – Sunday 12 July @ 10AM

The Club’s AGM is to be held at 10AM just outside the clubhouse on the grass. The purpose of the AGM is to:

  • update members on the club’s financial position;
  • vote on committee members for 09/10*
  • set membership fees for 09/10**
  • vote on a proposed name change to the club***
  • renew memberships and obtain new keys****

If any members would like to raise any issues, ideas or concerns, please make your intentions known to the committee prior to the meeting.

Thanks to the great work from everyone who helped out at the working bee in May we will not be required to do any maintenance/cleaning prior to the AGM as we usually do. Meeting scheduled to run for approximately 45min including a free light brunch of some description.

* It is a requirement that a new committee is elected at the AGM by a vote of all members present. All current committee members are intending to nominate themselves for their respective positions again. Any current member may nominate for a position.

** It is a requirement that membership fees are agreed to at the AGM by a vote of all members present.The committee proposes that membership fees remain the same for 09/10.

*** A proposal will be made to change the name of the club to remove the word ‘Amateur’. We will discuss options on the day, but some alternatives are Footscray Kayak Racing Club, Footscray Canoe Racing Club, Footscray Canoe and Kayak Club. The committee does not think Footscray Canoe Club (FCC) is an appropriate name given it is the same abbreviation as Fairfield.

**** Padlocks will be changed following the AGM. To ensure continued access to the club, make sure you’re at the AGM to re-new your membership and get a new key. If you can’t make it, please contact a committee member to arrange another time to re-new membership. All members’ input is important for the club – DO NOT TURN UP FOLLOWING THE AGM JUST TO PICK UP YOUR KEY. You are either a members or your not.
