Results In – Murray Marathon Dress Rehearsal

The 2008 Murray Marathon Dress Rehearsal was held on Sunday 14 December. After heavy rain Saturday, the clouds broke (briefly) but the wind kept pounding as 104 boats made their way around the Maribyrnong River circuit between Footscray Rd and Canning St.

Overall, 268 paddlers took part in the event across 8 starts – the 3rd largest number since records started nearly 20 years ago.

Podium finishers for the full distance 28kms were:

1st place – K2 of Keith Colomb & Tim Altman (2:09:02)
2nd place – K1 relay team of Oliver Whittaker & Duncan Groenwald (2:17:16)
3rd place – Simon Baird in a K1 (2:17:22)

Even in the gusty conditions, 9 FACC records were broken:
